 The Consular Section in Washington organizes the transactions of applicants to obtain entry visas to Iraq and who are in the United States of America, according to the geographical distribution of the states located within the consulate's workspace: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland  , Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia.

 As for states that are outside the consular section in Washington, please review or contact the Consulate General responsible for that state to find out the requirements for obtaining an entry visa to Iraq.

 Hours for submitting applications for obtaining an entry visa to Iraq: Monday - Friday from 10:00 in the morning until 12:00 in the afternoon

 Hours for receipt of entry visas issued by the Consular Section: Monday - Friday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm

 Important notes:

 Iraqis born on Iraqi soil and holders of a foreign passport are not required to obtain an Iraqi entry visa when traveling to Iraq.

 Please note that some airlines require US passport holders of Iraqi origin to obtain an entry visa to Iraq when passing through other countries, which necessitates taking this into account before traveling

 The passport of the visa applicant must be valid for a minimum period of six months.

 Requirements for obtaining an entry visa for holders of diplomatic and service passports

 First: Requirements for obtaining an entry visa for Iraqis born outside Iraq:

 Fill out the form for granting the visa (fill in the data electronically) and then print the form.

 Two (2) recent colored photographs with white background, measuring 2 x 2 inches (5 x 5 cm).

 A color copy of the birth certificate.

 A colored copy of the Iraqi civil status identity card or the nationality certificate of the father and/or mother to prove Iraqi citizenship.

 The original foreign passport, provided that the passport is valid for a minimum period of six months.

 The applicant's phone number.

 Visas are granted to those of Iraqi origin free of charge.

 The period for completing the visa treatment is seven working days, and the visa to enter Iraq is granted for only one visit, valid for a period of three months from the date of granting the visa.

 The transaction shall be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Iraq in Washington in person or by mail in a postal envelope with a reference paid in advance with writing the address of the applicant to ensure that the transaction is returned to its owner after completion.

 A color copy of the vaccination card is required at the airport upon arrival in Iraq.

 Second: Requirements for obtaining an entry visa for married Iraqi women:

 Fill out the form for granting the visa (fill in the data electronically) and then print the form.

 Two (2) recent colored photographs with white background, measuring 2 x 2 inches (5 x 5 cm).

 A colored copy of the Iraqi civil status identity or the husband's nationality certificate to prove Iraqi citizenship.

 A colored copy of the marriage contract issued by the official government agencies and certified by the US State Department.

 The original foreign passport, and the passport should be valid for a minimum period of six months.

 The applicant's phone number.

 Visas are granted to Iraqi wives for free.

 The period for completing the visa treatment is one week, and the visa to enter Iraq is granted for only one visit, valid for a period of three months from the date of granting the visa.

 The transaction shall be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Iraq in Washington in person or by mail in a postal envelope with a reference paid in advance with writing the address of the applicant to ensure that the transaction is returned to its owner after completion.

 Third: Requirements for obtaining an entry visa for non-Iraqis (foreigners):

 Fill out the form for granting the visa (fill in the data electronically) and then print the form.

 Two (2) recent colored personal photos with white background measuring 2 x 2 inches (5 x 5 cm).

 The visa applicant must hold a valid passport for a minimum period of six months.

 A letter stating the reason for the visit or the invitation extended to him from the Iraqi side.

 The original passport with a color copy of the passport.

 A color copy of the Driver's License (for requests to obtain an entry visa for religious visits).

 The applicant's phone number.

 The transaction shall be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Iraq in Washington in person or by mail in a postal envelope with a reference paid in advance with writing the address of the applicant to ensure that the transaction is returned to its owner after completion.

 The period for obtaining the entry visa for non-Iraqis takes fifteen days, excluding official holidays and weekends.

 After obtaining the fundamental approvals, the applicant is contacted by phone for the purpose of sending his original passport with the visa issuance fee (paid in cash) as shown below:

 $50 fee for obtaining the entry visa for the religious visit.

 $50 fee for obtaining a standard entry visa (single feature).

 $50 Fee for obtaining the Passport entry (single feature).

 $50 fee for obtaining the entry visa visit (single feature).

 $50 fee for obtaining a tourist entry visa.

 $100 Fee for obtaining the Multiple Entry Visa from (3-6) months maximum.

 $150 fee for obtaining the multiple entry visa for one year.

 $150 Multiple entry tourist visa (the principle of reciprocity) for one year only and for US passport holders exclusively (not authorized to work inside Iraq).

 Fourth: Requirements for obtaining an entry visa for holders of diplomatic and service passports:

 A note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the embassy in which the mission is accredited, explaining the reasons for the visit to Iraq.

 Fill out the form for granting the visa (fill in the data electronically) and then print the form.

 Two (2) recent colored photographs with white background, measuring 2 x 2 inches (5 x 5 cm).

 Visas are granted to holders of diplomatic and service passports free of charge.

 The original diplomatic or service passport is valid for a minimum period of six months.

 The original passport with a color copy of the passport.
